Panchthar teen held for raping minor
PHIDIM: A 10-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a 14-year-old boy in Hangum village of Panchthar village on Friday.
The alleged victim’s mother had filed a case against the teenage boy with police.
According to police, the mother claimed that the boy had called the minor to his house in neighbourhood and raped her.
After the daughter cried for help, the mother had been there just to find her child raped, according to police.
The teenage boy reportedly told police that he just “attempted to rape” the victim.
Police had arrested the boy today.
According to the District Child Rights Officer Saraswati Siwakoti, as many as three cases of rapes registered in last six months involved children under 16 as suspects.
